EMILE GALLÉ (1846-1904)
Rare verseuse dite gargoulette en faïence émaillée polychrome à décor en barbotine d'animaux stylisés.
Elle repose sur un talon circulaire surmontée d'une tortue. La panse ovoïde est à deux becs verseurs: un est en forme de tête de canard, l'autre de tête de dauphin stylisée. L'anse est à motif d'un enroulement de serpents.
Signature Emile Gallé Nancy ft, n°3, et marques 1/8 et 91.

Vers 1890.
H : 41 cm Diam: 37 cm

Rare coffee pot known as  Gargoulette  in enamelled polychrome earthenware decorated with stylised animals. It stands on a circular base surmounted by a tortoise.
The ovoid middle has two pourers : one has the form of a duck's head, the other, the stylised head of a dolphin.
The handle has a motif of curling snakes.

Circa 1890.
