Handdrum 'kundu'
Maprik, Papua-Neuguinea
wood, blackish- and reddish brown patina, kaolin, hourglass-shaped corpus, resonance chamber with intact reptile drum skin, ornamental decor in flat relief, projecting handle with Tukan motif, dam., minor missing parts, place of repair (lower resonance chamber);
the lizard giving its skin for the drum is handled with special care. He is intoxicated with a special blunt arrowhead, for the skin should not be damaged.
