A Southern Netherlands carved stone figure of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Ca. 1475-1500, possibly circle of Jan Borman I, Shown holding a book in her left hand, and wearing a dress that is partly folded over her left arm, her wavy hair falling on her back, while the figure of Emperor Maxentius is shown at her right foot. With traces of earlier polychromy. H 60 cm, Compare to the bronze casts of the mausoleum of Isabella of Bourbon in the Rijksmuseum (BK AM 33), and to a sculpture of Mary Magdalene from the Musée de Cluny, which has been attributed to Jan Borman I, ca. 1480-90.
