WAGNER RICHARD: (1813-1883) German Composer. Exceptionally rare A.M.Q.S., `Richard Wagner´, one page, 4to, Vienna, 27th December 1862, inscription and annotations in German. Wagner has penned a 5 bars musical quotation, annotating Wotan to the heading, and adds voice texts beneath the musical notes. The text corresponds to Wotan recitativo in The Valkyrie, third act, stating `dieser Augen leuchtendes Paar, das oft ich lächeldn gekost´. Wagner adds beneath `See you Soon! Your tired and sleepless Richard Wagner´. Small professional repair to the verso, to the edges, otherwise G £8000-12000 Wotan is the role of the God of battle and Ruler of the Gods, played by a bass-baritone, in the opera Die Walkure (The Valkyrie) (1870) by Richard Wagner. It is the second of the four music dramas that constitute Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung).
