Beau gobelet à couvercle gravé et doré, Zechlin, vers 1740-50 A fine Zechlin gilded and engraved goblet and cover, circa 1740-50 Perhaps circle of Elias Rosbach, Berlin, the waisted thistle-shaped bowl with a solid beaded base, finely decorated with three large sprays of fruit and flowers heighted in gilding, below an elaborate border of scrollwork and foliage incorporating three gilded anthemions, a band of flutes to the lower part, the base of the bowl and teared baluster stem faceted, the high domed foot with a gilded footrim, the domed cover with bands of fine flutes and polished circlets, with a gilded and faceted acorn finial, 24cm high (cover possibly associated) (2) Provenance With Uwe Friedleben Kunsthandel, 1 October 1987 Christian von Reitzenstein Collection
