11. Statuette en porcelaine de Meissen de la série des figures de la commedia dell'arte pour le duc de Weissenfels représentant Arlequin dansant, circa 1745 A Meissen figure of Harlequin dancing from the Duke of Weissenfels series, circa 1745 Modelled by P. Reinicke and probably J.J. Kaendler, wearing a green pointed hat, white tunic and ruff collar with gilt buttons, a yellow-lined, gilt-edged puce cape, green breeches and red shoes, 14.6cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear edge of base (hat restored) The description in the work records for April 1744 is as follows:"Einen Arlequin Ebenfalls zur Italienischen Cömodie gehörig, corrigiret und zerschnitten und zum abformen gegeben." [A Harlequin, also part of the Italian comedy, corrected and cut up and given for moulding]. Reinicke records working on a figure of Harlequin in April 1744 and Kändler corrected a Harlequin the same month; see Meredith Chilton, Harlequin Unmasked, 2001, p. 309, no. 102.
