A pair of Sèvres baluster vases, circa 1888-89
Each of elongated ovoid shape with a mottled lapis ground edged with gilt bands, 34 cm high, 13 cm diam., each stamped with "DORE A SEVRES 89" and "S 88" pill-shaped mark, with M in under-glaze blue and various incised letters and numerals, (2)

An identical vase was given to Victor Hugo for his eightieth birthday, now in the Maison de Victor Hugo - Hauteville House, inv. 1156.
