A rare yellow-ground Capodimonte cup and saucer, circa 1750
Decorated by Giovanni Caselli, the saucer with a large quince and apples laying on the ground in a naturalistic landscape, the cup with melon, peach and grapes in a similar landscape, a butterfly hovering over the fruit, both landscapes in symmetrical baroque cartouches of double gilt and black lines, saucer 13cm diam, fleur de lys mark in underglaze-blue to both cup and saucer, (some small rim chips) (2)
