1937 Hotchkiss 686 " Paris-Nice " Côte d'Azur Prototype No reserve Collection Pierre Héron Carte grise française Châssis n° 62832 Moteur n° 9668 - Dans la collection depuis 1966 ! - Prototype d'usine, le seul connu - Version Paris-Nice plus puissante - Sans réserve Malgré son image de sérieux, la marque Hotchkiss n'est pas étrangère au sport automobile. Elle s'y est distinguée à plusieurs reprises au Rallye de Monte-Carlo mais, auparavant, a remporté le Critérium Paris-Nice de décembre 1928 avec cinq voitures ex-æquo et en couvrant la côte de la Turbie à la moyenne de 71,6 km/h, puis en 1934. C'est la raison pour laquelle la marque a dénommé "Paris-Nice" (PN) la déclinaison sportive de ses nouveaux modèles en 1935 dont le six-cylindres 3,5 litres de la 686 voyait sa puissance passer à 110 ch. L'exemplaire présenté, outre l'intérêt qu'il représente grâce à sa configuration " Paris-Nice ", est un prototype d'usine avec carrosserie spéciale, identifiable à sa lunette arrière en deux parties et son train avant à suspensions avant indépendantes. Marc-Antoine Colin, auteur de plusieurs ouvrages sur Hotchkiss et Grégoire, nous a confirmé qu'à sa connaissance, il s'agissait de l'unique exemplaire répertorié avec ce type de carrosserie. Immatriculée pour la première fois en 1950 selon sa carte grise, la 686 est ensuite enregistrée en 1952 dans l'Isère, puis change de mains en juin 1960, avant que Pierre Héron ne s'en porte acquéreur le 12 décembre 1966. La voiture fut ensuite exposée au Salon de l'Automobile de 1975 à l'occasion d'une rétrospective organisée par Philippe Charbonneaux. Elle a bénéficié à cette occasion d'une remise en état avec peinture refaite. Pour anecdote, les filets furent peints le matin de l'ouverture de l'exposition, par Pascal Taka Hira, à main levée, comme il se doit. Il nous a également été rapporté que c'est le célèbre illustrateur Alexis Kow qui avait choisi le tissu pour refaire la sellerie. Très saine et complète, cette voiture est arrivée en roulant sur son lieu de stockage, il y'a une trentaine d'années. Elle mérite de bénéficier d'une remise en route soigneuse et constitue une pièce de collection exceptionnelle. Véhicule soumis à l'obtention d'un passeport d'exportation en cas de sortie hors territoire français et une licence d'exportation en cas de sortie hors territoire européen. Ces formalités sont prises en charge par Artcurial et sont soumises à des délais (environ trois mois pour les passeports et un mois supplémentaire pour les licences). The car on offer, in addition to the interest it represents thanks to its "Paris-Nice" configuration, is a factory prototype with special bodywork, identifiable by its two-part rear window and its front axle with independent front suspensions. Marc-Antoine Colin, author of several books on Hotchkiss and Grégoire, confirmed that, to his knowledge, this was the only one listed with this type of bodywork. Registered for the first time in 1950 according to its registration document, the 686 was then registered in 1952 in Isère, and changed hands in June 1960 once again, before Pierre Héron acquired it on December 12, 1966. The car was then exhibited at the 1975 Motor Show during a retrospective organized by Philippe Charbonneaux. It benefited on this occasion from a refurbishment including a new paint. The nets were painted the morning of the opening of the exhibition, by Pascal Taka Hira, freehand, as it should be. We were also told that it was the famous illustrator Alexis Kow who had chosen the fabric to redo the upholstery. Sound and complete, this car arrived driving to its storage place, about thirty years ago. This exceptional car deserves a considered restoration. Vehicle requiring an export passport in order to be taken out of France and an export license in order to leave European territory.
