Ainsi que nous l'a confirmé Jean-Paul Tissot, il fut commandé en mars 1948 et le châssis fût livré chez Letourneur et Marchand, le 10 décembre de la même année. Achevée, la voiture sera acheminée le 15 juin 1949 à la concession Delage/Delahaye de l'avenue Franklin Roosevelt, à Paris. Portant le numéro de carrosserie 3046, elle fût délivrée dans une livrée gris bleuté assortie d'une sellerie grise, et équipée du moteur type 6S-103 de 3.5L, alimenté par 3 carburateurs. Cet exemplaire est très probablement celui qui participa avec succès, au cours du printemps 1949, au concours d'élégance de la Grande Cascade au Bois de Boulogne et à celui de Vichy au cours duquel il remportera le grand prix d'honneur. On en retrouve ensuite la trace en 1977, au Quebec, dans une petite annonce, alors que sa peinture, sa sellerie et la capote sont à refaire suite à un incendie. Achetée par un administrateur du club Delahaye en 1979, la voiture va alors bénéficier d'une restauration complète en France. C'est auprès de ce dernier que l'actuel propriétaire en a fait l'acquisition en 2009, avant de se lancer dans une nouvelle restauration complète. La carrosserie a été mise à nu avant d'être repeinte, le train avant et les freins ont été entièrement restaurés. La mécanique a été remise en état par le propriétaire lui-même, ancien motoriste chez Alfa Romeo, et un relevé des compressions témoigne de son excellente santé. La sellerie, les moquettes et la capote ont également été refaites à la même occasion, et un dossier de factures témoigne de la restauration. En parfait état de fonctionnement, ce cabriolet carrossé par Letourneur & Marchand est rare et nettement plus exclusif que les réalisations de la filiale Autobineau. French title Chassis # 801182 Engine # 801182 - Only four units made - Fully restored - Original mechanicals This rare four-seater cabriolet is part of a series of four almost identical models, bodied by Letourneur et Marchand. As confirmed by Jean-Paul Tissot, it was ordered in March 1948 and the chassis was delivered to Letourneur et Marchand on December 10 of the same year. Once completed, the car was delivered on June 15, 1949 at the Delage/Delahaye dealership on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt, in Paris. With the body number 3046, it was delivered in a grey-blue livery with grey upholstery, and equipped with a 3.5L 6S-103 engine, aspirated with three carburettors. This example is in all likelihood the one that participated successfully, during the spring of 1949, in the concours d'elegance at the Grand Cascade, in Bois de Boulogne, as well as that of Vichy, where it won the Price of Honour. The next trace of the car is in 1977, in Quebec, when it appeared in an ad, in need of new paint, upholstery and hood following a fire. Purchased by a Delahaye club administrator in 1979, the car would then benefit from a complete restoration in France. It is from the latter that the current owner acquired the car in 2009, before embarking on a new comprehensive restoration. The body was exposed to the bare metal, before being repainted, and the front axle and brakes were fully restored. The mechanicals were refurbished by the owner himself, a former engine engineer at Alfa Romeo, and a test of the compression ratio testifies to the engine's excellent condition. The upholstery, the carpets and the hood were also redone at the same time, and invoices testify to the restoration. In perfect working order, this cabriolet bodied by Letourneur et Marchand is rare and much more exclusive than the achievements of its subsidiary Autobineau.
