Emballé par cette voiture, Henri Pigozzi, bouillonnant patron de Simca, décide de la commercialiser et en confie la fabrication à Facel Metallon. L'année suivante, elle est de retour au Salon sous les formes coupé et cabriolet, sur le soubassement de l'Aronde et avec l'appellation Simca-Sport. Ce sont des voitures d'une grande élégance, qui ne manquent pas de rappeler les Cisitalia de la même l'époque. La Simca 8 Sport que nous présentons est une désirable version cabriolet qui aurait été vendue neuve au Portugal. Son actuel propriétaire en a fait l'acquisition il y a cinq ans auprès d'un collectionneur Allemand. Ayant bénéficié d'une restauration ancienne, la peinture, d'une élégante teinte bleu marine affiche quelques petites imperfections. La sellerie est en bon état, tout comme la capote. La mécanique est dotée d'une intéressante tubulure d'admission à double carburateurs et d'un carter d'huile en aluminium accessoire. Un essai a permis de constater un fonctionnement satisfaisant. D'une rare élégance, cette automobile de carrossier à l'avantage d'allier rareté, facilité d'utilisation et fiabilité. French title Chassis n° 898621 - Highly elegant design - Interesting mechanical accessories - Smooth patina The Simca-Sport story begins at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, when Simca exhibits an elegant Pininfarina designed prototype, as requested by the brand. Enthusiastic by this car, the boss of Simca, Henri Pigozzi, decides to commercialize it and entrusts Facel Metallon to craft it. It returns to the exhibition the following year in coupe and convertible versions, with the Aronde substructure and the name Simca-Sport. These highly elegant cars remind us of the Cisitalia cars of the same era. The Simca 8 Sport we are offering is a desirable convertible version which was sold new in Portugal. Its current owner acquired it from a German collector five years ago. Having undergone a restoration a while ago, the elegant blue paint displays some minor imperfections. The upholstery and convertible top are in good condition. The engine is equipped with an interesting dual carburettor intake manifold and an optional aluminium oil sump. A test drive has confirmed that the car is in satisfying working condition. This coachbuilder's automobile with rare elegance has the advantage of combining rarity, ease of use and reliability.
