1955-1956 Bandini 750/1000 Sport Siluro No reserve COLLEZIONE MUSEO BANDINI Sans titre de circulation Passeport CSAI Châssis n° 035 Moteur n°035 - Ligne et conception radicales, dans le plus pur style italien de cette époque - Serait le châssis qui a participé aux Mille Miglia 1955 - État superbe - Sans réserve Pour les Mille Miglia 1955, Ilario Bandini a loué au marquis de Bologne, Marchese Rusconi, une 750 Sport Siluro dont le copilote n'était autre que le mécanicien de Bandini lui-même, Vanni Sintoni. La course avait bien commencé pour la voiture portant le numéro de course 038 et les deux hommes se trouvaient en tête de leur catégorie, avant un incident malheureux survenu à Florence et que raconte Sintoni : "C'était une folie, pas la mienne mais celle du pilote. Il a voulu absolument faire le plein, mais je n'étais pas d'accord car nous pouvions arriver à Bologne. Il a tout de même rajouté 10 litres d'essence et une bonne partie a débordé, si bien qu'en redémarrant, la voiture a pris feu et a été détruite dans l'incendie. Quel dommage ! Nous étions devant tout le monde !" L'épave a été ramenée à Forli et, selon Dino Bandini, aurait été restaurée au début des années 80 par Ilario Bandini et équipée d'un moteur 1 000 cm3 (déclinaison du 750 à culasse "en toit" dont il se distingue notamment par son échappement à droite). Toujours selon Dino Bandini et les informations qu'il a recueillies auprès de son oncle, aucune autre voiture n'a été reconstruite à partir d'un exemplaire ayant brûlé, ce qui laisse supposer qu'il peut s'agir de la Bandini sport Siluro des Mille Miglia 1955. Mais cette voiture est également accompagnée d'une copie de l'ancien "libretto" au nom d'Ilario Bandini, avec les numéros de châssis et moteur 035, et immatriculation FO18210 en date du 16 avril 1956, et indiquant bien une cylindrée de 1 000 cm3. Par ailleurs, un certificat de 1990 de la Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (CSAI) indique 1956 comme année de fabrication et précise que la voiture a été utilisée dans diverses épreuves en 1956-1957-1958-1959. Selon ces documents, cette voiture aurait pu être immatriculée à la suite d'une réfection ayant immédiatement suivi l'incendie des Mille Miglia 1955. Quoi qu'il en soit, elle a été vendue dans les années 80 au Dr R., chirurgien-dentiste de Radicondoli, à côté de Sienne. C'est auprès de lui que Dino Bandini en a fait l'acquisition en août 1997, comme en témoigne un certificat de vente manuscrit du Dr R. Dino Bandini a précisé que, lors de son achat, la Siluro était installée dans le salon du dentiste qui, avec son épouse, regardait la télévision assis dans la voiture... Cette superbe Siluro 1000, fine et légère, avec son châssis tubulaire spécifique, son moteur Bandini double arbre et sa carrosserie en aluminium, affiche tous les ingrédients des meilleures barquettes de course italiennes des années 50. Elle représente une rare occasion de s'approprier une tranche d'histoire du sport automobile, dans ses plus belles années. Unregistered CSAI passport Chassis n° 035 Engine n°035 - Radical form and design, the purest Italian styling of this period - Could be the chassis that participated in the 1955 Mille Miglia - Superb condition - No reserve For the 1955 Mille Miglia, Ilario Bandini rented a 750 Sport Siluro to the Marquis of Bologna, Marchese Rusconi, and the co-pilot was none other than Bandini's mechanic, Vanni Sintoni. The race started well for car number 038 and the two men found themselves leading their class, before an unfortunate incident in Florence, described by Sintoni : " It was madness. Not mine but the driver's. He was determined to refuel, and I was against this as we had enough to get to Bologna. However, he went ahead and put 10 litres in and a good part of it overflowed so that when we restarted, the car caught fire and was destroyed. What a shame ! This happened in front of everyone ! " The wreckage was brought back to Forli and, according to Dino Bandini, was restored at the start of the 1980s by Ilario Bandini, and fitted with a 1000cc engine (an adaptation of the 750 with " roof " shaped head, distinguished by its right-hand exhaust). According to Dino Bandini and the information he gathered from his uncle, no other car had been rebuilt from an example that had been burnt, suggesting that this could be the Bandini Sport Siluro from the 1955 Mille Miglia. However, this car is also accompanied by an old " libretto " in the name of Ilario Bandini, with chassis and engine numbered 035, and registration number FO18210 dated 16 April 1956, recording as having a 1000cc engine. In addition, a certificate dated 1990 from the Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (CSAI) indicates 1956 as the year of production and specifies that the car had been used in various events in 1956-1957-1958-1959. According to these documents, our car would have been repaired immediately after the fire and registered to use after 1955 Mille Miglia. Either way, it sold in the 1980s to Dr R, a dental surgeon from Radicondoli, near Siena. It was from this gentleman that Dino Bandini acquired the car in August 1997, as confirmed by a sales document handwritten by Dr R. Dino Bandini has said that, when he bought it, the Siluro was installed in the living room of the dentist who used to sit in the car with his wife and watch television… This superb Siluro 1000, dainty and lightweight, with its specific tubular chassis, twin-cam Bandini engine and aluminium body, boasts all the ingredients of the best Italian racing barchettas of the 1950s.
