Parmi l'important dossier qui l'accompagne, un document des douanes allemandes témoigne de son exportation le 6 août 1956 à destination des USA, afin d'être livrée à Saint Louis, dans le Mississippi. D'une élégante teinte Graphite Grey (190G) et équipée de la boîte de vitesses automatique optionnelle, notre Adenauer a passé l'essentiel de sa vie aux USA, on retrouve sa trace dans l'Indiana jusqu'en 2004, puis elle est vendue au Texas, et c'est un français qui en fait l'acquisition aux enchères en 2009 avant de l'importer. C'est auprès de ce dernier que la famille Mannes, spécialiste indépendant Mercedes-Benz depuis près de 40 ans, en a fait l'acquisition en 2010 afin de compléter sa collection. La voiture, sélectionnée pour son toit ouvrant, a depuis été stockée. Anciennement repeinte, elle est toujours équipée de son moteur d'origine qui n'est pas bloqué. La carrosserie présente de la corrosion perforante et devra bénéficier d'une restauration complète. Elle est accompagnée de son manuel de bord, de son carnet d'entretien, du manuel de son ancien autoradio Becker, remplacé par un Motorola depuis, et du manuel du réseau Mercedes. Cet intéressant projet de restauration mérite l'attention des collectionneurs de la marque à l'étoile. In the impressive folder that comes with the car, a German customs document confirms its export on 6 August 1956, to the USA, to be delivered to Saint Louis, in Mississippi. In an elegant Graphite Grey (190G) color and equipped with the optional automatic gearbox, this Adenauer spent most of its life in the USA. We find its trace in Indiana until 2004, then in Texas, and it was a Frenchman who acquired it at auction in 2009 before importing it. It was from the latter that the Mannes family, independent Mercedes-Benz specialists for nearly 40 years, acquired the car in 2010, to complete their collection. The car, selected for its sunroof, has since been put into storage. Formerly repainted, it is still equipped with its original engine which has not seized. The body has perforating corrosion and will need a comprehensive restoration. It comes with its owner's manual, its service book, the manual for its old Becker car radio, which has since been replaced by a Motorola, and the Mercedes network manual. This interesting restoration project deserves the attention of collectors of the brand.
