Sa production va rester confidentielle : 36 exemplaires avec ce moteur, ce qui en fait aujourd'hui une voiture extrêmement rare. Sortie des ateliers le 27 juillet 1957, la Facel FV4 que nous proposons dispose d'intéressantes options usine comme l'assistance de direction et de freins, les vitres électriques et teintées, ainsi que les jantes Robergel à rayons. Après avoir passé au moins 35 ans dans le nord de la Californie, elle était achetée en octobre 2004 par Larry Gesiakowski, en état d'origine. Son nouveau propriétaire, qui gérait l'atelier de restauration WGM, à Chicago (Illinois), se lança alors dans une restauration complète et sans compter, qui dura quatre ans. Il fit même appel à deux spécialistes de la marque, Hans Rühe au Pays-Bas et Mark Morgan en Californie, pour s'assurer du bienfondé des travaux et de leur respect de la configuration d'origine de la voiture. L'ensemble des travaux a fait l'objet de photos qui sont jointes au dossier. La qualité de cette restauration a porté ses fruits, puisque la voiture a remporté trois fois le premier prix de sa catégorie (en septembre 2010 au Palos Verdes Concours, en février 2011 au Desert Classic Concours d'Elegance de La Quinta, Californie, et en mai 2011 au Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance de Beverly Hills, Californie). En 2011, cette voiture était importée en Europe et, en février 2012, elle était achetée à l'occasion d'une vente aux enchères par son actuel propriétaire. Celui-ci, collectionneur éclairé et amateur exigeant, a fait corriger les défauts qu'il rencontrait au fur et à mesure de son utilisation. Il a confié tous les travaux aux établissements Pichler CFG AG, à Gstaad ; ils concernent les trains roulants, la direction assistée, le contrôle de la transmission, la révision du maître-cylindre et du servofrein, le remplacement des garnitures de freins, le nettoyage et le traitement du réservoir d'essence... L'ensemble des factures correspondantes sera remis au nouveau propriétaire. Un essai a révélé le bon fonctionnement de l'ensemble ; cette Facel FV4 est superbe, tant en carrosserie qu'à l'intérieur. Modèle rare, il est encore plus désirable dans cet état de présentation, après être passé entre les mains de propriétaires ayant dépensé sans compter. In 2011, the car was imported into Europe, and in February 2012 it was purchased during an auction by its current owner. The latter, a keen collector and demanding enthusiast, corrected the few flaws he found out. He entrusted all the work to etablissements Pichler CFG AG, in Gstaad. They include the running gear, the power steering, the control of the transmission, the overhaul of the master cylinder and the brake booster, the replacement of the brake linings, the cleaning and the treatment of the fuel tank... The complete set of invoices will be given to the new owner. A test drive showed the correct functioning of the car. This Facel FV4 is superb, both in the condition of the body and in the interiors. A rare model indeed, it is even more desirable in this condition, after having had the attention of owners who spent lavishly.
