Dérivée du mythique modèle à l'étoile, ce petit Roadster est imaginé en collaboration avec Max Hoffman, l'importateur Mercedes aux Etats- Unis. Cette Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster est équipée d'un moteur 4 cylindres en ligne de 1897 cm3 développant 105 CV grâce à deux carburateurs. Le moteur est couplé à une boite manuelle à 4 vitesses. Le châssis repose sur une suspension avant indépendante et des demi-axes oscillants arrière avec ressorts hélicoïdaux et 4 freins à tambours à commande hydraulique. Elle est l'oeuvre des designers maison Karl Wilfert et Walter Hackert, qui reçoivent le mandat de créer une automobile ressemblant à la 300 SL mais plus petite de 30 cm. Dérivée du châssis plate-forme de la modeste berline 180, qui est raccourcide 25 cm. La carrosserie est en acier mais les quatre ouvrants (portières, coffre arrière et capot moteur) sont en aluminium. La 190 SL terminera sa carrière avec une production totale de 25881 unités. Dans la tradition de Mercedes Benz, cette voiture est très bien construite et permet un usage quotidien. Le modèle présenté est en superbe état, sa sellerie est récente, la peinture a été refaite et la mécanique est en bon état. Elle ne présente aucune trace de corrosion et sa capote est en bon état. The frame rests on a front independent suspension and of the oscillating semiaxes postpones with helical springs and 4 hydraulically-operated drum brakes. It is the work of the designers house Karl Wilfert and Walters Hackert, which receive the mandate to create a car resembling the smaller 300SL but of 30 cm. Derived from the frame platform of the modest 180, which is shortened of 25 cm. The body is out of steel but the four opening (doors, back trunk and engine cowling) are out of aluminium. The 190 SSL will finish its career with a total production of 25881 units. In the tradition of Mercedes Benz, this car is very well built and allows a daily use. The model presented is in superb state, its leather is recent, it has a beautiful painting as well as a very good mechanics.
