" clamait une publicité au début des années 60… Cette automobile ludique aux allures batraciennes, fabriquée en Allemagne, fait partie des rares véhicules amphibie de tourisme. Elle était animée par un moteur Triumph 1 147 cm3 lui permettant d'atteindre 125 km/h sur route et 8 noeuds sur l'eau. L'exemplaire que nous présentons a été acheté au cours des années 2000 par son actuel propriétaire, amateur et collectionneur de voitures exceptionnelles. Après avoir navigué quelques années à son bord, il a décidé de lui faire bénéficier d'une restauration complète entre 2012 et 2014. La carrosserie a ainsi été entièrement refaite dans les règles de l'art, ainsi qu'en témoigne un ouvrage édité à cette occasion. La sellerie en skaï, la capote, l'électricité et les trains roulants ont été restaurés tandis que l'ensemble de la mécanique a été contrôlé et remis en état. Nous avons eu le plaisir de constater le bon fonctionnement de cet Amphicar, tant sur la route qu'en navigation, avec pour preuve une amusante vidéo réalisée pour la mise à l'eau du véhicule lors de notre examen. Un dossier de factures complète l'important dossier photo qui accompagne ce très bel exemplaire, original et prêt à l'usage. It was powered by a 1,147cc Triumph engine which was able to reach 125 km/h on the road and 8 knots on water. This specific example was purchased in the years 2000s by its current owner, an enthusiast and collector of exceptional cars. After cruising it for a few years, he decided to carry out a complete restoration between 2012 and 2014. The bodywork has been completely redone by the book, as evidenced by a documentation published on this occasion. The skai upholstery, the hood, the electrics and the running gear have been restored, while all the mechanics have been checked and repaired. We had the pleasure to experience the smooth operation of this Amphicar both on the road and on water, highlighted in our review in the form of an amusing video taken when the vehicle was driven in the water.
