Aussi célèbre que la Coccinelle ou la 911, sa renommée est telle qu'elle est réapparue ces dernières années sous la forme moderne que vous connaissez. - La toute première série de Fiat Nuova 500 est présentée à Turin en juillet 1957. Elle est équipée d'un moteur bicylindre vertical refroidi par air de 479 cm³, disposé à l'arrière, délivrant 13 ch. Après diverses évolutions, en 1960, la 500 devient 500 D, et une déclinaison utilitaire et familiale voit le jour : c'est la naissance de la Fiat 500 Giardiniera (jardinière) produite à 327 000 exemplaires. - La voiture qui illustre ces pages fut construite en 1968, année de transition où la Giardiniera sera commercialisée sous la marque Autobianchi, même si la firme fabrique la voiture pour Fiat depuis 1960… - Et même si c'est une Autobianchi, elle a été « fiatisée » lors de sa restauration en Italie, son intérieur, son compteur et son volant noir ayant été avantageusement remplacés par des éléments Fiat bien plus gais, et assortis à sa sublime couleur Giallo Positano. On notera le toit entièrement découvrable. - La carrosserie est saine, et les pneus, freins, allumage, batterie, échappement et électricité sont neufs.
