Elle fut livrée neuve au Concessionnaire Auto Elite en Italie en juillet 1968. Elle était alors vert Miura interieur en skai noir. Achetée aux États-Unis en 1989 par son actuel propriétaire italien, cette voiture avait été accidentée et nécessitait une restauration complète. Elle a donc été ramenée en Italie pour que les travaux soient menés à bien. En 1991, la coque était confiée aux établissements Mabert pour un contrôle et une remise en état. La mécanique (moteur et boîte de vitesses) a pris le chemin de l'atelier de M. Vizziolli, spécialiste Ferrari et Lamborghini. Enfin, la carrosserie a été restaurée et repeinte chez le spécialiste reconnu, Auto Sport Bacchelli e Villa. Depuis 2002, le propriétaire utilise cette voiture régulièrement pour se rendre en Toscane. Il a également pris part à divers rallyes historiques, comme la Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti où l'on peut imaginer qu'elle a pleinement exprimé sa puissance et ses qualités routières dans les routes de cols dont cette région est riche. Régulièrement entretenue par le mécanicien du propriétaire, qui possédait aussi une Miura S, cette Miura est prête à prendre la route et se présente aujourd'hui dans un état superbe. S'agissant d'une P400, elle arbore les étonnants "cils" entourant les phares, qui disparaîtront par la suite et qui contribuent au caractère de ce modèle, rappelant les persiennes tenant lieu de lunette arrière et les lamelles logées dans la prise d'air du montant arrière. La carrosserie de teinte rouge est impeccable, de même que l'intérieur avec sa sellerie en cuir noir. Rappelons que, lors de sa présentation au Salon de Genève 1966, la Lamborghini Miura a fait l'effet d'une véritable provocation. Ferrucio Lamborghini, mécontent des services fournis par Ferrari, souhaitait frapper les esprits et, avec la conception révolutionnaire de son nouveau modèle, il donnait un coup de vieux aux productions de son rival de Maranello. Avec un châssis-plateforme conçu par Giampalo Dallara, la Miura recevait un moteur V12 placé en position centrale-arrière et, pour permettre une réelle compacité, il était disposé transversalement et faisait bloc avec l'embrayage et la boîte de vitesse. Cet ensemble peu banal disparaissait sous une carrosserie tracée par le crayon magistral de Marcello Gandini, chez Bertone. Basse, racée, inédite, cette voiture était différente de tout ce que l'on connaissait alors, y compris sur le plan des performances : ses 350 ch lui permettaient d'atteindre 270 km/h, une vitesse hors de portée des voitures de cette époque. Cette personnalité forte vaut d'ailleurs à la Miura d'être considérée comme la première supercar du monde. L'exemplaire que nous présentons constitue donc une excellente opportunité de goûter les plaisirs de cette machine exceptionnelle et rare. It was delivered new to Auto Elite dealership in Italy in July 1968, presented in Miura green with black leatherette interior. The current Italian owner bought the car in the United States in 1989. As it had been damaged and required a full restoration, it was brought back to Italy for the work to be overseen. In 1991 the shell was sent to Mabert to be inspected and restored. The engine and gearbox found their way to the Ferrari and Lamborghini specialist workshop, Vizziolli. Finally, the body was finished and repainted by the renowned specialist Auto Sport Bacchelli e Villa. Since 2002, the owner has used the car regularly for trips to Tuscany. He has also taken part in various historic rallies, such as the Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti, where the region's winding roads would have allowed the car to flaunt its powerful engine and excellent road-handling. Regularly maintained by the mechanic employed by the owner, who also owns a Miura S, this car is ready to drive and is presented in superb condition. Being a P400, the eye-catching " lashes " around the headlights that add to the character of this model, are present, matching the louvers that take the place of the rear windscreen, and on the air intake on the rear pillar. The red coachwork is impeccable, the same as the black leather interior. Let's remember that the launch of the Lamborghini Miura at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 caused an absolute storm. Ferrucio Lamborghini, unhappy with the service provided by Ferrari, wanted to make an impact, and the revolutionary design of his new model put his rival at Maranello in the shade. With a chassis-platform designed by Giampalo Dallara, the Miura was equipped with a mid-mounted V12 engine. For the first time, this was slung transversely and integrated with the clutch and gearbox making an extremely compact unit. This unusual set-up was concealed beneath a body sketched by the magisterial hand of Marcello Gandini, at Bertone. Low, racy and original, nothing had been seen like this before. The performance was also unprecedented: with 350 bhp the car could reach 270 km/h, a speed out of reach for other cars of that period. With this formidable personality, the Miura could be called the first supercar in the world.
