Tout le monde voulait rouler en 1750, de Paris à Rome, en passant par New York et Los Angeles. En remplacement du coupé Giulietta Sprint qui a assuré le renouveau d'Alfa Romeo dans le segment des coupés sportifs, la firme milanaise frappe un grand coup en 1963 avec la présentation de la Giulia GT. Son dessin affirmé et équilibré revient à un jeune designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, travaillant alors à la Carrozzeria Bertone, ce qui vaudra d'ailleurs à l'automobile le surnom de " coupé Bertone ". Tout au long de sa carrière, le coupé Giulia connaîtra le succès, tant sur le plan commercial, qu'en compétitions où les versions GTA (en 1300 et 1600) remporteront de nombreux titres. La version 1750 cm3 (Tipo 105.44) apparait en 1967. Le moteur est hérité de la Berlina et entraine ce joli coupé à plus de 190 km/h. De nombreuses améliorations sont effectuées à l'occasion de la sortie de ce modèle : le circuit de freinage est doublé, les sièges et le volant sont modifiés. Pour beaucoup il s'agit de la meilleure version du " coupé Bertone " avec son tableau de bord sobre et classique et un moteur toujours prêt à monter dans les tours. On verra même courir des 1750 GT Veloce aux 9 heures de Kyalami en 1969 ou au Grand Prix de Printemps de Pologne en 1971. Notre modèle est un coupé Bertone 1750 GT Veloce de Septembre 1969 dans son coloris « Rosso Alfa » d'époque. Entre 2003 et 2006, la 1750 GTV bénéficiera d’une restauration en profondeur, tout sera déposé, repris ou remplacé. 7000 euros de factures de pièces viennent justifier cette restauration, sans compter les heures de main d’œuvre. Moteur, boite de vitesse, pont, caisse, tout y est passé. La voiture proposée est bien conforme à l’origine, autant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur. Notre essai routier a permis de valider le bon comportement général de l’automobile. Everyone wanted to drive a 1750, from Paris to Rome, via New York and Los Angeles. Replacing the Giulietta Sprint coupé, which ensured Alfa Romeo's revival in the sports coupé segment, the Milanese firm struck a blow in 1963 with the presentation of the Giulia GT. Its strong and balanced design was the work of a young designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was working at Carrozzeria Bertone at the time, which earned the car the nickname "Bertone coupé". Throughout its career, the Giulia coupé was successful both commercially and in competitions, where the GTA versions (1300 and 1600) won numerous titles. The 1750 cc version (Tipo 105.44) appeared in 1967. The engine was inherited from the Berlina and drove this beautiful coupe to more than 190 km/h. Many improvements were made for this model: the braking system was doubled, the seats and the steering wheel were modified. For many it was the best version of the "Bertone coupe" with its sober and classic dashboard and an engine that was always ready to rev. The 1750 GT Veloce was even raced at the Kyalami 9-hour race in 1969 and the Polish Spring Grand Prix in 1971. Our model is a Bertone 1750 GT Veloce coupe from September 1969 in its original 'Rosso Alfa' colour. Between 2003 and 2006, the 1750 GTV will benefit from a thorough restoration, everything will be removed, reworked or replaced. 7000 euros of parts invoices justify this restoration, not counting the hours of labour. Engine, gearbox, axle, body, everything has been done. The car offered is very much in line with the original, both inside and out. Our road test confirmed the car's good general handling.
