Attribué à Jacopo Negretti, dit Palma le Jeune (Venise 1548-1628) Saint Sébastien porte une inscription 'Tintoret fecit' (en bas à droite) fusain, et rehauts de blanc sur papier bleu bears inscription 'Tintoret fecit' (lower right) charcoal on blue paper 29.4 x 18.1cm (11 9/16 x 7 1/8in). Provenance Benjamin West (1738-1820) (L. 419) Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) (L. 2445) Acquired at the Gillot sale (1865-1866) for (30fr), according to the label on the reverse The present work appears to be preparatory drawing for the figure of Saint Sebastian, seen on the left, in The Virgin and Child and Saints, now in Monopoli Cathedral.
