Ce modèle racé, présenté au Salon de Turin 1966, représente l'aboutissement des Maserati à moteur V8 avant et va permettre à la marque de reprendre une place affirmée sur le marché des voitures de Grand Tourisme. Elle y est aidée par le magnifique moteur quatre arbres conçu par Giulio Alfieri, puissant, endurant et qui, dans sa version 4,9 litres, permet à la Ghibli d'atteindre 270 km/h. Les voitures capables de telles vitesses sont plutôt rares, à l'époque. Née avant la crise du pétrole et les limitations de vitesse généralisées, elle reflète encore les années d'insouciance où l'on pouvait sans rougir se vanter de "moyennes" élevées sur route ouverte. La voiture présentée a été livrée neuve en France dans ce colori " Rosso Rubino ", intérieur en cuir beige. Elle a fait l'objet d'une sérieuse restauration à la fin des années 90. En 2007, cette Ghibli, dans sa meilleure cylindrée, avait été vendue lors d'une vente Poulain - Le Fur en 2007 au Palais des Congrès. Le montant de la restauration était alors indiqué ; il était de plus de €45 000. Le propriétaire actuel, un grand homme de la radio, en a fait l'acquisition auprès de la Carrosserie Lecoq, mandaté par le propriétaire de l'époque, qui avait procédé à un changement du collecteur d'échappement et à la fourniture d'un autoradio Becker. Plus récemment, une révision a été réalisée dans le même établissement, avec changement de tous les filtres, des joints, une réfection du radiateur et un changement de la pompe à eau (facture de €5700). L'intérieur de cette Ghibli est splendide, aussi bien les moquettes que les cuirs se présentent dans un état impeccable. Il s'agit d'une bonne routière, bien équilibrée. La peinture est de belle qualité. Les amateurs auront remarqué qu'elle porte le même colori extérieur que la Ghibli du film " La Piscine " avec Alain Delon, Romy Schneider et Maurice Ronet, raison pour laquelle l'actuel propriétaire en a fait l'acquisition ! This stylish model, presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1966, was the ultimate development of the front-engined V8 Maserati, allowing the marque to take a well-earned place in the market for Grand Touring cars. This was helped by the magnificent four-cam engine designed by Giulio Alfieri, powerful and robust, that was capable, in the 4.9-litre version, of powering the Ghibli to a top speed of 270 km/h. Cars capable of such speeds were rare at that time. A pre-oil crisis baby that appeared before the widespread introduction of speed limits, the Ghibli represents carefree times when one could boast without embarrassment of high "average speeds" on the open road. The car presented here was delivered new in France in this " Rosso Rubino " colour with beige leather interior. It benefitted from a major restoration at the end of the 1990s. In 2007 this Ghibli, presented with the best engine size, was sold at a Poulain-Le Fur auction at the Palais des Congrès. The cost of the restoration was indicated as being over €45 000. The current owner acquired the car from the Carrosserie Lecoq, with permission from the owner at that time, who had sent the car for a new exhaust and a Becker radio to be fitted. The same establishment has carried out a service on the car more recently, in which all the filters and seals were changed, the radiator repaired and the water pump changed (invoice of €5700). The interior of this Ghibli is splendid, with carpets and leather upholstery in immaculate condition. This is a wonderful, well-balanced car for the road. The paintwork is excellent. Enthusiasts will note that it is the same colour as the Ghibli in the film " La Piscine " starring Alain Delon, Romy Schneider and Maurice Ronet, which is one of the reasons that the current owner bought it! The Ghibli in this 4.9-litre SS version has wonderful torque, making this a very agreeable car to drive, and a worthy rival of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona in terms of performance...if not yet in terms of price...
