1981 Renault 5 Le Car Van No reserve Carte grise française Châssis n°VF1122400C0057110 - Véritable collector, environ 450 exemplaires produits - Provenant de la collection André Trigano - Nombreux travaux récents - Sans réserve Proposée par le carrossier français Heuliez à partir d'août 1979, le Renault 5 Le Car Van offrait un aménagement s'inspirant des Vans américains très en vogue à cette époque. C'est essentiellement la partie arrière dont le traitement innovait puisque les vitres de custode de la version de série étaient supprimées au profit d'un panneau en polyester injecté complété d'un hublot cerclé d'aluminium. Le hayon était d'une seule pièce en polyester, recevait un hublot rectangulaire et supportait la roue de secours qui était fixée à l'extérieur, sous une housse. Il s'ouvrait sur un vaste compartiment arrière débarrassé de la banquette et habillé de moquette. Visuellement, la carrosserie noire était soulignée d'un bandeau arc en ciel et l'ensemble reposait sur les jantes optionnelles AMYL. La production de cette automobile originale est estimée à environ 450 unités. L'exemplaire présenté est basé sur une version TS de 1981, immatriculée en novembre de la même année. André Trigano en avait fait l'acquisition en 2003 auprès d'un célèbre malletier parisien qui la possédait depuis 1985. Son actuel propriétaire, collectionneur exigeant, lui a fait bénéficier d'une peinture neuve dans sa teinte d'origine, a remis en place les stickers spécifiques et a remis en place la fixation extérieure de roue de secours. Les tissus de sièges ont été retendus, les jantes restaurées et chaussées de pneumatiques neufs, le freinage a été révisé et le radiateur remplacé. Bien conservée, cette rare version a retrouvé son éclat d'origine et tous les éléments spécifiques qui en font le charme. Il s'agit certainement d'un des plus beaux exemplaires survivants. VF1122400C0057110 - Genuine collector's item, about 450 built - From the André Trigano collection - Extensive recent work - No reserve Sold by the French coachbuilder Heuliez from August 1979, the Renault 5 Le Car Van was a conversion inspired by the American vans that were very fashionable at the time. It was essentially the rear of the car that received a novel treatment, as the rear side windows were replaced by injection-moulded polyester panels featuring a round porthole with aluminium trim. The tailgate was made from a single polyester moulding with a small rectangular window; the spare wheel was mounted on the outside, under a cover. The tailgate opened onto a huge carpeted rear compartment, from which the rear seats had been removed. Visually, the black bodywork was set off by a rainbow-coloured stripe, with optional AMYL wheels. Production of this original model is estimated at about 450 units. The car presented is based on a TS from 1981, first registered in November that year. André Trigano acquired it in 1983 from a famous trunk-maker in Paris, who had owned it since 1985. Its current owner, a demanding collector, had it repainted in its original colour, reinstated the stickers specific to the model and refitted the external mount for the spare wheel. The seat upholstery was re-tensioned, the wheels restored and fitted with new tyres, the brakes overhauled and the radiator replaced. Well preserved, this rare version has been restored to its former glory, with all the special equipment which gives it its charm. It is certainly one of the finest remaining examples.
