1986 Nissan 240 RS Groupe B Collection Michel Hommell Voiture de compétition Sans titre de circulation Châssis n° BS110 000087 - Provenant du Manoir de L'Automobile de Lohéac - Palmarès rare en Championnat du monde - Etat de préservation exceptionnel - Une Groupe B collectionnable et utilisable - 8éme au Rallye de Cote d'Ivoire 1986 avec Alain Ambrosino L'équipe d'Artcurial Motorcars est extrêmement fière de présenter les deux dernières voitures du Groupe B de la collection du Manoir de l'Automobile de Lohéac, collectées avec soin par Michel Hommell et Olivier Quesnel dès la fin des années 1980. Le Manoir se sépare aujourd'hui de ces deux voitures afin d'aménager un espace plus vaste consacré uniquement aux voitures de rallycross qui ont fait l'histoire de Lohéac. De type BS 110, cette Nissan 240 RS homologuée en Groupe B a connu à l'époque un important succès grâce à ses qualités routières et sa robustesse. Le modèle que nous présentons s'est illustré avec le pilote Alain Ambrosino et son coéquipier Daniel Le Saux : en 1985, au volant d'une autre RS 240 encore immatriculée au Japon, l'équipage termine troisième au Rallye de Côte d'Ivoire, derrière les stars Juha Kankkunen et Björn Waldegård, tous deux sur Toyota Celica. Cette performance vaut l'année suivante à Ambrosino un volant quasi-officiel chez Nissan pour le Safari du Zaïre, qu'il remporte, avant de retrouver le Rallye de Côte d'Ivoire, épreuve internationale comptant pour le Championnat du Monde. Alors qu'il occupe la quatrième place, sa boîte de vitesses le trahit et il termine finalement huitième. Aux couleurs du team JVC-Marlboro Afrique, la voiture qu'il utilise est celle qui porte le numéro de châssis 087 : c'est elle que nous présentons ici. Au volant de cette voiture, il prend part en 1987 au Safari du Zaïre dont il signe la deuxième place. Le certificat de passage en douane de 1988 dont nous disposons précise qu'elle est alors immatriculée en Côte d'Ivoire sous le numéro GIW 3187. Après ces épreuves, la voiture est importée en France, comme en témoigne un certificat des douanes datant du 25 septembre 1990. Elle porte l'immatriculation ivoirienne 9603 ITJ alors qu'elle est la propriété du directeur d'une société. C'est auprès de lui qu'Olivier Quesnel et Michel Hommell vont en faire peu après l'acquisition, au début des années 1990, et la conserver sans modification. Cette voiture se présente donc aujourd'hui dans un état d'origine exceptionnel pour une voiture de course, comme si elle sortait de son dernier rallye africain. Sous la peinture ancienne, on devine les traces de marquage des sponsors successifs qui ont soutenu Alain Ambrosino dans sa belle carrière. Régulièrement démarrée, la Nissan fonctionne, même si une révision complète devra être effectuée, et, Jean-Claude Andruet a récemment pris le volant de cette voiture dont il a souligné l'excellent comportement. Elle a fait partie des animatrices de la saison 1986, au plus fort des grandes heures du Groupe B, catégorie légendaire restée sans équivalent. A ce titre, elle est un rare témoin d'une des plus belles pages de l'histoire des rallyes. Competition car Unregistered Chassis no. BS110 000087 - From the Manoir de l'Automobile at Lohéac - Exceptional history in World Rally Championship - Remarkably well preserved - A Group B car to collect and to drive - 8th in the 1986 Ivory Coast Rally with Alain Ambrosino The Artcurial Motorcars team is extremely proud to present the two final Group B cars from the collection at the Manoir de l'Automobile at Lohéac, built up with great care by Michel Hommell and Olivier Quesnel from the end of the 1980s. The Manoir is today disposing of these two cars in order to create a larger area devoted to the rallycross cars which made Lohéac's history. This type BS 110 Nissan 240 RS was homologated in Group B and was highly successful in period, thanks to its handling and sturdy construction. The model we are presenting made its mark with Alain Ambrosino and his co-driver Daniel Le Saux: in 1985, driving another RS 240 still registered in Japan, they finished third on the Ivory Coast Rally, behind the stars Juha Kankkunen and Björn Waldegård, both in Toyota Celicas. This performance led to Ambrosino being given a quasi-official place with Nissan for the Zaire Safari Rally, which he won, before returning to the Ivory Coast Rally, an event which counted towards the World Rally Championship. Whilst in fourth place, he was let down by his gearbox and ultimately finished eighth. In the livery of the JVC-Marlboro Africa team, the car he was driving was chassis number 087, and it is this very car we are presenting today. At the wheel of this car, he competed in the 1987 Zaire Safari Rally and finished second. The customs clearance certificate from 1988 with the car indicates that it was registered at the time in Ivory Coast with the number GIW 3187. After these rallies the car was imported into France, as can be seen from a customs certificate dated 25 September 1990. It then had the Ivory Coast registration 9603 ITJ and was the property of a company director. Quesnel and Hommell bought the car from him soon afterwards, at the start of the 1990s, and kept it unmodified. The car is therefore in exceptional original condition today for a competition car, as if it had just finished its last rally in Africa. Under its old paintwork, traces can be seen of the logos of the successive sponsors who backed Ambrosino during his successful career. The Nissan has been regularly started up and runs, although a full service should be carried out. Jean-Claude Andruet recently drove the car and stressed its excellent handling. It was one of the leading lights of the 1986 season during the golden years of Group B, that legendary category which has never been matched.
