Chasse gardée par Porsche depuis 1955, la gamme speedster voit le jour avec la Porche 356 qui se pare d’une carrosserie aux lignes tendues et adopte un habitacle dépouillé incluant deux seuls sièges, une capote de secours, des vitres en plastique et la suppression de la boite à gant. Fortement allégée, la voiture séduit dès sa sortie et la moitié de la production part pour les Etats-Unis où vedettes et pilotes amateurs se l’arrache pour son élégance et son efficacité. A l’apparition de la 911 en 1963 aucune version speedster ni même cabriolet sont prévus au catalogue et cette carrosserie tombe quelque peu dans l’oubli. Coup de théâtre en 1987 au Salon de Francfort où un prototype est présenté au grand public. Sur base de 911 Type G, une carrosserie Speedster est apposée renouant ainsi Porsche avec son passé 30 ans plus tard. Davantage équipée, le dépouillement de cette nouvelle version est moins flagrant mais ce sont ses éléments de carrosseries qui font de cette voiture davantage une bête de concours qu’une véritable arme sur circuit. En effet, un double bosselage est installé derrière la tête des usagers, le pare-brise est amovible (comme sur la 356), une capote non-doublée vient protéger l’habitacle en cas d’intempéries et les places arrière ont disparues. C’est en 1989 que cette Carrera Speedster sort d’usine dans sa version homologuée ; deux carrosseries sont proposées : une basée sur la 911 carrera « classique » et une autre basée sur le kit « turbo look » le tout pour un prix frôlant l’indécence par rapport à une carrosserie coupé ou cabriolet. Au-delà de la volonté pour Porsche de montrer son savoir-faire en termes d’esthétisme, c’est aussi la série d’adieu de la seconde génération de 911. Souhaitant renouveler son succès commercial et marketing, d’autres versions speedster seront proposées pour les générations de 911 type 964, 993 et 996 mais sans la réussite escomptée. En 2019 un véritable retour aux sources est proposé aux clients de la marque avec là aussi le dernier tirage de la type 991 alors que la 992 est déjà au catalogue. Moteur atmosphérique, boite manuelle, esthétisme rappelant le passé de Porsche, tout est fait pour rappeler aux gens la vraie conduite, un moteur à sensations dans un monde où la voiture sportive s’embourgeoise, s’alourdit et devient aussi facile à piloter qu’une citadine. Proposée à plus de 270 000 euros, ce modèle se trouve maintenant aux alentours de 400 000 euros en occasion, pari réussi. Le modèle de Porsche Speedster que nous vous présentons est basé sur la 911 Type G de 1989, surement la plus mythique aux yeux des collectionneurs. Immatriculée pour la première fois le 6 juin 1989 en Allemagne, elle n’a connu qu’un seul et unique propriétaire véritablement amoureux de ce modèle. Aujourd’hui la voiture affiche moins de 21 000 kilomètres et cela se ressent. Peinture d’origine gris métallisé, pneus d’origine, moteur et boite de vitesse encore recouverts de la paraffine appliquée en usine. Quelques petites modifications personnelles ont été demandées par le client à la commande de son speedster notamment le montage d’un pare-chocs arrière type USA qui lui rappelait les voitures des séries US qui ont bercé sa jeunesse ainsi qu’une peinture grise qui recouvre les jantes Fuchs. Le vendeur nous a même indiqué que cette voiture n’est jamais sortie sous la pluie. It was in 1989 that this Carrera Speedster came out of the factory in its approved version; two bodies are available: one based on the «classic» 911 carrera and another based on the «turbo look» kit all for a price close to indecency compared to a body cut or convertible. Beyond the desire for Porsche to show its know-how in terms of aesthetics, this is also the farewell series of the second generation of 911. Wishing to renew its commercial and marketing success, other speedster versions will be offered for the generations of 911 type 964, 993 and 996 but without the expected success. In 2019 a real return to the roots is proposed to the customers of the brand with there also the last edition of the type 991 while the 992 is already in the catalog. Atmospheric engine, manual gearbox, aesthetics reminiscent of Porsche’s past, everything is done to remind people of real driving, an engine with sensations in a world where the sports car is gentrified, weighs down and becomes as easy to drive as a city car. Original metallic grey paint, original tires, engine and gearbox still covered with paraffin wax applied in the factory. Some small personal modifications were requested by the customer to order his speedster including the installation of aUSA type rear shocks that reminded him of the cars of the US series that rocked his youth as well as a gray paint that covers the Fuchs rims. The seller even told us that this car never came out in the rain. Delivered with its certificate of conformity, its two sets of keys, its original toolbox and even the rare compressor for the spare wheel, this Speedster is already a rarity in the collections and on our roads, but at this mileage-This is an opportunity that does not come up twice.
