With its timeless proportions that pay homage to the era's Bauhaus, Art Deco, and Modernism styles the watch remains as stylish today as when it was first designed. It is quintessentially 1930s and yet effortlessly contemporary. Patek Philippe produced the reference 96 for four decades from 1932 to 1973. It was not only the first of the well loved Calatrava line of dress watches, but was also the first model to be marked by a numbered reference by Patek. The model was later replaced by the reference 3796. Only around 95 timepieces were manufactured in stainless steel.
