A good late 18th century French ormolu figural mantel clock
De Belle, Rue St Honore, Paris
Surmounted by the seated figure of Apollo, a lyre resting on his knee and a staff over his back, a set of pipes, tambourine and a tall pitcher sit on the patinated rocky outcrop to the base, on a tall breakfront base with applied mounts on toupie feet. The 5 inch signed white enamel Roman dial with concentric date and minute track, matching gilt hands and tapered date hand. The twin train movement with flat-bottomed plates, silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell. 61cms (2ft.) high.
