A WOOD NETSUKE OF A BAKEMONO (GHOST)
18th century
The emaciated ghoulish figure standing hunched over, clasping his hands over his head, crying out with wide eyes, wearing a robe tied at the waist, the wood well-patinated, a later small metal reinforcing clasp in between the himotoshi; unsigned. 9.8cm (3 7/8in) high.
