The present work, Truth Discovering to Time Science Instructing her Children in the Improvements on the Microscope depicts: Truth as the central figure, Time as the old gentleman with the scythe and Science, seated surrounded by children, with her hands on a globe. It was engraved in mezzotint in 1780s and published as the frontispiece of George Adams Essays on the Microscope in 1787.
