RARE PETIT VASE EN VERRE OVERLAY BLANC SUR FOND ROSE AVEC SON COUVERCLE EN VERRE VERT XVIIIe/XIXe siècle A RARE SMALL WHITE-OVERLAY PINK GLASS VASE AND GREEN GLASS COVER 18th/19th century The compressed ovoid body with a recessed base, finely and skillfully carved around the exterior through single layer of opaque white glass with bats flying amidst billowing clouds, the translucent pink ground an even, vibrant rose-pink colour, the translucent dark green glass cover naturalistically carved and shaped as small leaves issuing from a short central stem. 10.5 cm (4 1/8 in) high (2). The diminutive size and the fine quality of the carving are very similar to those found on snuff bottles of this period, especially those attributes to Li Junting, active in Yangzhou in the early decades of the 19th century, sharing the same fine quality of carving and brilliant colour scheme.
