Howard notes that the coat of arms with its 'sable-à-chevron' between three dolphins embowed argent, a canton ermine' is that of the family of Fryer of London. Sir John Fryer (1671-1726) was an Alderman of London, Sheriff, and then Lord Mayor of London in 1721. Howard assumes that this service is likely to have been made for one of his two daughters.
