A German engraved goblet and cover, probably Zechlin, last quarter 18th century The generous ovoid bowl decorated with a nude Bacchant reclining before a ewer, a glass of wine raised in his left hand and a branch of fruiting vine in his right, flanked by sprays of stylised foliage and further fruiting vine, the reverse with the floral monogram 'FF' within a foliate cartouche, the rim with a vermiculé border, the base of the bowl cut with facets, raised on an octagonal stem and circular foot with a milled edge, the domed cover with a border of fruiting vine and a faceted finial, 20.6cm high (2) Provenance With Uwe Friedleben Kunsthandel, 5 April 1986 Christian von Reitzenstein Collection
