Beau et grand bocal royal en verre églomisé, Bohémie, vers 1730-40 A fine and large royal Bohemian engraved Zwischengoldglas goblet and cover, circa 1730-40 The generous tapering ogee bowl finely engraved with the crowned mirror monogram of Christian VI of Denmark, framed by elaborate floral and foliate scrollwork, the rim with a border of polished circlets beneath a frosted band, the base of the bowl decorated with gilt acanthus leaves and scale ornament below a lappet border, on a faceted baluster stem and conical foot cut with a |0|0| pattern rosette and a band of circlets, the domed cover with elaborate gilt scrollwork and matching acanthus leaf ornament within bands of polished circlets, with a faceted finial, 30.3cm high (2) Provenance With Karl Brunnarius Antiquitätenhandel, 21 November 1986 Christian von Reitzenstein Collection Christian VI (1699-1746) was King of Denmark and Norway, Duke of Schleswig and Holstein and Count of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst from 1730 until his death.
