A Berlin KPM porcelain plaque with a view of a gentleman's room Decorated with an unusually detailed depiction of an interior, possibly a library or study. Impressed letter H. H 11.5, W 15.7 cm, in a later wooden frame H 17.2, W 21.7 cm.. Attributed to Berlin, KPM, circa 1840. This work shows the view from the window side of the room towards a double-leaved door, probably leading into a corridor. On the left we see a wall covered in bookshelves, on the right a large tiled oven and an unusual cabinet in front of a partially visible door leading into another room. In the back left corner we see a pipe-stand and a top hat placed on an étagère beside it, both attributes indicate that the room belonged to a gentleman. Literature Another finely painted interior scene formerly housed in the Twinight Collection was sold in Lempertz Berlin auction 1128 on 6th April 2019, lot 140. Berliner Zimmerbild Porzellan, farbiger Aufglasurdekor. Außergewöhnlich detailreich gemaltes Interieurbild, vermutlich eines Bibliotheks- oder Studienzimmers. Pressbuchstabe H. H 11,5, B 15,7 cm, späterer Holzrahmen H 17,2, B 21,7 cm. Berlin, KPM, zugeschrieben, um 1840. Vom Fenster aus gleitet unser Blick wie der eines Voyeurs in das Studierzimmer eines Herrn. Geradeaus befindet sich eine Doppelflügeltür, die vermutlich in einen Korridor führt. Links füllt ein mächtiger Bücherschrank die Wand, rechts steht der hohe Fayenceofen und ein ungewöhnliches Truhenmöbel vor einer zur Hälfte sichtbaren Tür, über die ein weiteres Zimmer erreichbar ist. In der linken hinteren Ecke sehen wir einen Pfeifenständer, auf der Etagère daneben, liegt ein Zylinder. Alles wirkt so, als ob der Bewohner gerade und ganz kurz nur den Raum verlassen hätte.
