A cuirassier three-quarter armour dating: About 1625 provenance: Germany, Composed of cuirass helmet, complete breast-plate, culet, knee-cops and complete brassards. Cuirass ventail helmet, with skull in two halves, riveted in the center, carved with ribs convergent at the peak with a pierced button on a star-base, chanfrin with raisable brim with upper border with wide cusps and remains of outlines, cusped brim with recessed and hemmed edge. Ventail with space for sight and circular and rectangular ventilation holes. Smooth beaver with hemmed edge. Neck-guard and nape-guard of single plate. Rows of iron rivets. Gorget with two front plates with smooth-roped neckline and row of iron rivets. Breast-plate with barely outlined and slightly ribbed in the center tapul. Back-plate with smooth roping. Complete brassards with epaulettes, partially cusped and strongly distanced at the border. Knuckle-shields with big cuffs with edges with a recessed band and paired rivets, plated back parts and complete scaled fingers. Interesting lobster-tailed cavalry knee-cops, convertible in cuirass tassettes, removable lower halves. Complete with a big removable culet, with plates with remains of double outlines. Restored leather strings. All with smooth roping. On a fine wooden support.Height as shown 137 cm. height total with base circa 184 cm.
