A large Apulian Red-Figured Bell Krater Ca. mid 4th cent. B.C. Terrakotta. The obverse with an offering scene depicting Dionysios with his thyrsus and oil jug, accompanied by a satyr and a maenad. The reverse with three draped youths under discussion, two of them carrrying a long staff. Meander frieze, a laurel wreath below the rim, palmettes with scrolling tendrils. Small chips, painting partially renewed. H. 38,5 cm, diam. 39 cm. - Provenance: Since the 1980s in a private collection, Northern Germany. - Großer apulischer rotfiguriger Glockenkrater Mitte 4. Jh. v. Chr. Terrakotta. Auf der Vorderseite eine Opferszene, die Dionysos mit Thyrsosstab und Ölkännchen sowie seine Begleiter, einen Satyr mit Opferschale und eine Mänade zeigt. Auf der Rückseite drei bekleidete junge Männer im Gespräch, zwei von ihnen halten einen Stab.Umlaufender Mäanderfries, ein Lorbeerkranz unterhalb des Mündungsrandes, unter den Henkeln jeweils eine Palmette mit Blattranken. Kl. Best., partiell übermalt. H. 38,5 cm, Dm. 39 cm. - Provenienz: Seit den 1980er Jahren Privatbesitz, Norddeutschland. -
