A pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose 'shou' cups. The upper section of the mouth rim is decorated with cloud and bats (blessing) motifs. The central band features various forms of the character 'shou' (longevity) rendered in different calligraphic styles, painted in red, green, black, and yellow enamels. Below this, gourd motifs are depicted. The center of the bowl features the 'Five Blessings Holding Longevity' (wufu pengshou) design, symbolizing the wish for a long and prosperous life. The base with six-character underglaze blue ‘guangxu’ mark and period. Guanxu period,19/20th Century. D: 6,5cm, H: 4cm. Perfect condition. (UV-checked).
