AELTESTE VOLKSTEDTER PORZELLANMANUFAKTUR Großplastik "Hirscheber", um 1920. Entwurf von Arthur Storch für die Frühjahrsmesse am 06. März 1921 im "Porzellan-Palais" Leipzig, Tierfigur eines Fabelwesens, Kopf eines Hirsches mit Geweih, Körper und Hauer in Form eines Ebers, auf geschweiftem Sockel sitzend, polychrome Staffage, seitliche Volkstedt-Marke und gepresstes Künstlersigné "AST", H 82cm x L 72 cm, seitliche Sprünge, Beschädigungen (u.a. Chip am Stand L. ca. 3,5 cm) und Brandflecken. Das Königliche Palais diente als Messehaus, Hugo Meisel und Arthur Storch entwarfen 16 verschiedene Großplastiken in Form von Fabeltieren und machten durch die Ausgestaltung der Räumlichkeiten von sich reden. Die Eröffnung der Ausstellung war eine Sensation. Vorbild für den "Hirscheber" war eine Beschreibung in der Schrift "Gartenlaube", Heft 1 des Autors Nicolas Funck, Leipzig 1882. Bei Bombenangriffen während des 2. Weltkrieges wurde das Modell für den "Hirscheber" sowie sämtliche Aufzeichnungen zerstört. Vermutlich existieren nur wenige Exemplare dieses Modells. The Royal Palace served as a trade fair house, Hugo Meisel and Arthur Storch designed 16 different large sculptures in the form of mythical animals and made a name for themselves with the design of the rooms. The opening of the exhibition was a sensation. The model for the "deerboar" was a description in the font "Gartenlaube", volume 1 by the author Nicolas Funck, Leipzig 1882. The model for the "deerboar" and all records were destroyed in the bombing raids during the Second World War. There are probably only a few copies of this model.
