H : 25 ¾ in Anton Lavinsky est considéré comme un artiste idéaliste touche à tout, il a été professeur de sculpture au célèbre institut supérieur d’art et technique Vhutemas, il a collaboré dans des réalisations de décors de théâtre avec Mayakovsky, a été architecte, créateur d’affiches et a côtoyé des artistes et personnages influents de cette première moitié du XXème siècle, tels que El Lissitsky ou encore Rodchenko. Suite à la Révolution de 1917, Anton Lavinsky sera l’un des premiers réformateurs du système d’enseignement des Beaux-Arts en Russie. Celui-ci tend vers une esthétique nouvelle imprégnée de ce courant nouveau qui est le « constructivisme » qui vise à une géométrisation de l’espace et une reconnaissance des techniques industrielles. Dans l’oeuvre que nous vous présentons, thème de prédilection de l’artiste figurant une femme, on retrouve une caractéristique stylistique commune à ses créations qui tendent vers le cubisme avec des formes anguleuses aux lignes droites et équilibrées. Aujourd’hui il existe très peu d’archives de l’artiste et ses oeuvres, rares sur le marché, restent très recherchées des collectionneurs. Anton Lavinsky is considered to be an idealistic artist dabbling in everything. He thought sculpture at the famous Superior Institute of Art and Technique Vhutemas and collaborated with Mayakovsky making theatre scenery, he had also been an architect, and a poster designer and had mixed with the influential artists and personalities of the first half of the 20th century, such as El Lissitsky or yet again, Rodchenko. Following the revolution of 1917, Anton Lavinsky became one of the first to reform the teaching system of Beaux-Arts in Russia and was drawn towards the aesthetic of this new movement known as « constructivisme » which aimed to create a solid geometry of space and the recognition of industrial techniques. We can see the artist’s favourite theme in the work that we are presenting and that represents a woman in the characteristic style of his creations, cubic and angular with straight, well balanced lines. Very few archives of this artist exist to this day and his work is rare and very sought after by collectors.
