BEDEUTENDER SITZENDER BUDDHA AMIDA NYÔRAI. Japan. Kamakura-Zeit (1185-1333). Datiert laut C14 Analyse. Holz mit Lack und Vergoldung. Sockel aus vielen Einzelteilen und mit einem durchbrochenen Mittelteil aus Bronze. Der Buddha sitzt in Lotushaltung mit den Händen in Meditationsgeste (jô in). Mit fast geschlossenen Augen ist sein Ausdruck in sich gekehrt. Das kesa-Gewand liegt in eleganten Falten und lässt seine Brust frei. Der originale Sockel in Form einer Lotosblüte ist mit einem durchbrochenen Mittelteil vom Unterteil abgesetzt. Die Handhaltung wird exakt auch als jôbon jôshô bezeichnet bezeichnet und ist innnerhalb der neun Stufen die für eine Wiedergeburt in der höchsten Ebene des westlichen Paradieses des Buddha Amida. Solch eine große Figur war sicherlich in einem Tempel aufgestellt. Gesamthöhe 72cm. Zustand A/B. Teilweise restauriert. Provenienz: -Sammlung von Robert W. Base from numerous parts and with an openwork middle part of bronze. The Buddha sits in lotus posture with his hands in meditation gesture (jô in). With his eyes almost closed, his expression is introverted. The kesa garment is draped in elegant folds and leaves his chest free. The original base in the shape of a lotus blossom is separated from the base by an openwork middle section. The mudra is exactly called jôbon jôshô and is within the nine steps the one for the rebirth in the highest level of the western paradise of Buddha Amida.
