L'inscription au dos doit être comprise ainsi (en néerlandais et latin) : "Niemand snijdt dan de tjd / Hodie. Mich Cras . Tiby", "rien ne coupe le temps / aujourd'hui à moi, demain à toi". L'inscription latine se retrouve sur les tombes.
