Erwin Speckter (1806 – Hamburg – 1835). Detail copy of the Memling-Altar in Lübeck. Circa 1825 (+ 3 supplements) Pencil on paper. 42 × 54 cm (16 ½ × 21 ¼ in.). Monogrammed and dated lower left: ES gez d 18 August. There too a longer inscription. The work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the works by Erwin Speckter by Henry Smith.– Three supplements: 1) Otto Speckter: „Auferstehung Christi aus dem Bordesholmer Altar, nach Brüggemann“. Circa 1823. Pencil on paper, 23 × 25,8 cm. Braunfels 498. 2) Otto Speckter(?): Architectural study (Canopy). Pencil on laid paper (watermark: C & I Honig), 26,3 × 9,4 cm. Not in the catalogue raisonné by Braunfels. On the enclosed mount cardboard inscribed in pencil: Otto Speckter 3) Otto Speckter: 5 lithographs on vellum from: "Altargemälde der Greveradenkapelle im Dome zu Lübeck. 1stes Heft".
