Technique: Copper with dark green patina. The surface with finely hatched structure. Description: The human-like figure seems to stand with legs spread wide apart and arms resting on the hips, and is radiating an air of great power. Compared to the few known anthropomorphic idols from this area, this one is spectacular high. Characteristic is the thickened edge at the "head" and the knife-like edges at "arms" and "legs". Originally broken in five parts with virtually no loss of material, professionally restored. Hoard finds of copper objects in northern India, especially in the doab plain between Ganges and Yamuna, have been known since the 19th c. Since no ancient architectural structures and no graves have been found near these finds, it has so far been difficult to assign them to a specific culture. Scholars, in particular Paul Yule and D. P. Agrawal, have now carried out extensive research on these finds, which helps to date them to the 2nd millennium BC and most likely to the 2nd half of this century. Beschreibung: Die menschenähnliche Figur scheint mit weit gespreizten Beinen und in die Hüfte eingestützten Armen zu stehen und strahlt große Macht aus. Verglichen mit den wenigen bekannten anthropomorphen Idolen aus diesem Gebiet ist diese hier erstaunlich groß. Hortfunde von Kupfergegenständen in Nordindien, insbesondere in der Ebene zwischen Ganges und Aamuna sind seit dem 19. Jahrhundert bekannt. Da in der Nähe dieser Funde keine antiken architektonischen Strukturen und keine Gräber entdeckt wurden, war es bisher schwierig, sie einer bestimmten Kultur zuzuordnen. Gelehrte, insbesondere Paul Yule und D. P. Agrawal, haben inzwischen umfangreiche Forschungen zu diesen Funden durchgeführt, die dazu beitragen, sie in das 2.
