PROVENANCE Imperial Hermitage, St. Petersburg, no. 73 (label on verso), as Bernardo Daddi CONDITION The panel is in overall stable age-appropriate condition. Fine horizontal craquelure overall. Miniscule losses in places, most notable to the head veil of Mary Magdalen. Significant termite damange to the back of the wood panel. Inspection under UV shows an uneven layer of old varnish, retouching to craquelure around the figure of Christ, mainly to the left side, as well as two lines at the raised hand of the soldier, overall to no more than 15-20% of the surface.
