A. studierte am Budapester Konservatorium und spielte im Orchester des Nationaltheaters. Parallel nahm er Zeichenuntericht und studierte 1869-74 an den Kunstakademien Wien und München. Anschließend arbeitete er im Atelier von M. Munkácsy in Paris. 1897 wurde er Professor an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Budapest. Neben Historienbildern und Sakralkunst schuf er vor allem delikat farbige Darstellungen des ungarischen Volkslebens aus Szolnok und vom Balaton. Mus.: Budapest (Nat.-Gal.) u.a. At the same time he took drawing lessons, 1869-74 he studied at the art academies of Vienna and Munich. Thereafter he worked in the studio of M. Munkácsy in Paris. In 1897 he was made professor at the Budapest art academy. Besides history paintings and church paintings he made depictions of rural life in the Szolnok and Balaton region.
