La figurine présente un corps élancé et vertical, avec une silhouette aux proportions expressives mettant l'accent sur les attributs féminins et la fertilité. La tête, de forme ovoïde allongée, est traitée de manière schématique avec un visage réduit à ses éléments essentiels : deux yeux perforés circulaires et un nez en arête formant un motif en T caractéristique, créant une expression hiératique et mystérieuse. Le cou, long et cylindrique, marque une transition élégante entre la tête et le torse. Le buste présente deux seins proéminents modelés en relief, symboles évidents de la féminité et de la maternité. Les bras sont levés et pliés vers le haut dans une position d'orant (prière) ou de geste rituel, posture récurrente dans les figurines néolithiques et interprétée comme une invocation divine ou une attitude d'adoration. De petites perforations circulaires sont visibles au niveau des épaules et des bras, probablement destinées à suspendre la figurine ou à y attacher des ornements. La partie inférieure du corps, fusiforme et allongée, est richement ornée d'un décor incisé et perforé formant des motifs géométriques complexes : lignes verticales, chevrons, et série de perforations circulaires disposées symétriquement, évoquant peut-être un vêtement, des tatouages, ou des symboles cosmologiques. Ces motifs créent une texture visuelle dense et rythmée. La terre cuite présente une couleur brun-gris foncé résultant de la cuisson réductrice (atmosphère pauvre en oxygène), technique fréquente dans la céramique néolithique. La culture Trypilienne (ou Cucuteni-Trypillia selon les zones géographiques) est l'une des civilisations néolithiques et chalcolithiques les plus remarquables d'Europe, s'étendant sur les territoires actuels de l'Ukraine, de la Moldavie et de la Roumanie entre environ 5500 et 2700 av. J.-C. Cette culture se distingue par ses villages de grande taille (certains comptant plusieurs milliers d'habitants), sa céramique peinte sophistiquée aux motifs spiralés et géométriques, et sa production abondante de figurines anthropomorphes. Les idoles féminines constituent l'un des corpus les plus importants de l'art mobilier trypillien. Des milliers d'exemplaires ont été découverts lors de fouilles archéologiques, dans des contextes domestiques (habitations) et possiblement cultuels. Leur présence massive suggère qu'elles jouaient un rôle central dans la vie spirituelle et sociale de ces communautés agricoles. The figurine presents a slender vertical body, with an expressive silhouette emphasizing feminine attributes and fertility. The head, of elongated ovoid form, is treated schematically with a face reduced to its essential elements: two circular perforated eyes and a ridged nose forming a characteristic T-motif, creating a hieratic and mysterious expression. The long cylindrical neck marks an elegant transition between head and torso. The bust presents two prominent breasts modeled in relief, obvious symbols of femininity and motherhood. The arms are raised and bent upward in an orant (prayer) position or ritual gesture, a recurrent posture in Neolithic figurines interpreted as divine invocation or attitude of adoration. Small circular perforations are visible at the shoulders and arms, probably intended to suspend the figurine or attach ornaments. The lower part of the body, fusiform and elongated, is richly decorated with incised and perforated decoration forming complex geometric patterns: vertical lines, chevrons, and series of circular perforations arranged symmetrically, perhaps evoking clothing, tattoos, or cosmological symbols. These patterns create a dense and rhythmic visual texture. The terracotta presents a dark brown-gray color resulting from reduction firing (oxygen-poor atmosphere), a frequent technique in Neolithic pottery. The Trypillian culture (or Cucuteni-Trypillia according to geographical zones) is one of the most remarkable Neolithic and Chalcolithic civilizations in Europe, extending across the current territories of Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania between approximately 5500 and 2700 BC. This culture is distinguished by its large villages (some counting several thousand inhabitants), its sophisticated painted pottery with spiral and geometric motifs, and its abundant production of anthropomorphic figurines. Female idols constitute one of the most important corpora of Trypillian portable art. Thousands of examples have been discovered during archaeological excavations, in domestic contexts (dwellings) and possibly cultic ones. Their massive presence suggests they played a central role in the spiritual and social life of these agricultural communities.
