Imposing pair of angels in carved, gilded and polychromed wood. Viceroyalty of Peru. 17th - 18th century. Height: 70 cm. Wonderful sculptures depicting two angels holding a cornucopia. They are dressed in tunics with a large embroidered collar, which is fastened with a sun-shaped brooch, and masterfully decorated with floral decoration in estofado technique and brushwork, featuring large red carnations. They wear beautiful floral crowns on their heads topped with two separate motifs, one in the shape of the sun and the other a feline.
