In 1939, Portuguese watch importers Mr. Rodrigues and Teixeira made a special request to IWC, to create an oversized wristwatch with a highly accurate movement, of marine chronometer precision. Reference 325 has been produced in 304 pieces equipped with caliber 74 and 329 specimens with caliber 98.
