Jakub Schikaneder (1855 - 1924) Contemplation oil on canvas, sign. RD, frame. Extraordinary production of high gallery value. Monumentaly conceived painting synthetize whole author's masterhood - his typical virtuose game of light, perfect work with brush, courageous arrangement and deep meditation, that is supported by colouring. Prof. T. VlCek, CSc., author of masters monograph and exhibitions features in his technical expertise to painting: „...Painting belongs to most important works of this author. It was exhibited in 90. years of 19th century in Prague and abroad...“ Canvas was later exhibited in National gallery in Prague in permanent exposition (VO10789). Technical expertise by Mgr. V.
