* LACQUER DESK "AUX BUSTES DE ROMAINS", Louis XV, Paris, 18th/19th century.
Tulipwood, rosewood and hardwood lacquered on all sides with "laque de Chine"; park landscape with a large pagoda and tea drinkers, lake and bridge on a black background. Fall-front writing surface lined with green leather. The floral marquetry-decorated interior with a large central compartment, 3 traversed drawers and 3 large compartments. Exceptionally rich, gilt bronze mounts, some replaced. Shaped "Brèche d'Alep" marble top. 111x45x(open 98)x153 cm.
