This matrix shows the enthroned Apostle Peter, who holds the key and a double cross as attributes in his hands. The inscription reads: "S(IGILLVM) CAPITVLI S(AN)CT(I) PETRI ET PAVLI IN DURLON." The monastery of Sts. Peter and Paul in the village of Dorla in the diocese of Erfurt in Thuringia was first mentioned in a document in 1123. The historical development of the monastery suggests that our seal matrix was probably made after 1223, and an imprint of it exists from 1257. Die Umschrift lautet: "S(IGILLVM) CAPITVLI S(AN)CT(I) PETRI ET PAVLI IN DURLON." Das Stift St. Peter und Paul in der in Thüringen im Bistum Erfurt gelegenen Ortschaft Dorla wurde zuerst im Jahr 1123 urkundlich erwähnt. Die historische Entwicklung des Stiftes legt nahe, dass unser Typar vermutlich nach 1223 entstanden ist; nachweisbar ist ein Abdruck dieses Konventssiegels aus dem Jahr 1257.
